HELP WANTED
Volunteers Needed!
We need volunteers to help our Paw Cats transition and recover. Do you have an hour or so per week you could volunteer to take care of the kitty crew at the Paw Palace? Companions feed, play, cuddle, feed, clean litter boxes and relax with the cats.

You need to be able to go up and down stairs as some of our cats are in second floor rooms. Generally a shift is an hour or more depending on how many cats are with us. They all need love, cuddles, and kisses.
Companions have a morning, afternoon or evening shift so we have some scheduling flexibility for fill ins.

If you want to learn more, please call Joanne Chick at 443-1114 for more information about how you can help. Remember we are helping some the neediest cats in our area. We are an all volunteer program restoring health and trust to the feline community. The cats will benefit from your visits and so will you.
Thank You for Helping Us to Save the House!
Dear Friends,

A Paw in the Door is now the proud owner of 14 Winter Street, our Paw Palace!
We recently closed our loan at Bath Savings! A huge thank you to all of you who helped make this happen! Without your support we would not have been able to meet this challenge. Also, a big thank you to Bath Savings for recognizing our commitment to our cause & our financial stability over the past 35 years of serving our community.
This is a happy day for all of us, for all the cats we have helped & for all the cats who will come to us in need in the future.
I think Aurora, the little cat who started Paw in the Door must be pleased and very proud of all of you.
With Gratitude,
Patty

Make a One-Time Donation
A Paw in the Door needs your financial support. Your monetary donations are the lifeblood of our program. We have ongoing cat care, food, office supply and travel expenses, but our biggest financial commitment by far are our veterinary expenses. Providing medical support to hundreds of cats per year, regardless of the complexities of their needs, is an endlessly expensive task. Please consider making a financial contribution to A Paw in the Door—our cats need your help.
Be a House Companion
The Paw Palace in Bath is our headquarters and safe place for cats who are in transition. They may be adjusting to their life changes or recuperating from a medical treatment or an illness. These cats are getting ready for adoption or are waiting for their forever home. However, in the meantime they need loving, caring people to visit with them, care for them, play with them and show them the love and stability that they need while awaiting adoption. Contact us to find out more about Companioning. We would love to meet you.
Provide Foster Care
While our Paw Palace is vitally important to our program, we are only able to house a few cats at a time there. A Paw in the Door also needs foster homes where our cats can rest and adjust to their life transition while awaiting adoption or medical care. We are committed to supporting our foster parents with all of the attention and supplies that they need as they provide safe and loving, transitional homes. If you think you might be interested in fostering, please give us a call. We would be happy to talk it over with you.
Provide Feral Cat Homes
Feral cats are cats that have never been domesticated and will likely never seek the love and attention of humans. Our feral cat placement program is looking for homes with barns, outbuildings or space for feral cat shelters to be built. Adopters are asked to provide food and water on a daily basis and adequate shelter from the elements, including during the cold winter months. Other than these simple requirements feral cats are very low maintenance and are welcome additions to any barn or large property. If you think your property may be a suitable home for one or more feral cats please contact us. We would be happy to talk over the particulars with you. We have developed a successful system for introducing and supporting feral cat homes and are here to help you get yours up and running.
Leave a Legacy of Caring
Planned giving can be a meaningful way to leave a legacy of caring. Consider leaving a bequest by remembering A Paw in the Door in your will. We would be honored to share in your legacy.
Volunteer
A Paw in the Door is run entirely by volunteers and we are all busy taking care of our cats, preparing for fundraisers and keeping up on office work. Please consider joining the ranks by offering to help us:
- Be a part of our fundraising events. We need help with set-up, clean up and everything in between. Any amount of time and help is appreciated.
- Be a cat companion and spend time with our cats awaiting adoption. This can be a simple 1/2 hour visit, or more!
- Volunteer to help keep our adoption sites comfortable and clean.
- Help us with clerical duties. We always have mailings to organize and data to compile.
- Help us fundraise. We need sponsors, supporters and creative ideas. We welcome your involvement and input! If you own a business consider becoming a sponsor. If you are a household consider making us the recipient of one of your annual charitable contributions.
Donate Items
We host several Annual Yard Sales and Silent Auctions for which we are always looking for quality items to sell. Anything from artwork to gardening supplies to household items to antiques are all welcome.
Spread the Word
The more community involvement we have the better we can serve our cat population. Tell your friends and family about us. Our cats need your help.
Adopt!
The keys to A Paw in the Door's success are the caring and loving families that provide healthy homes for the cats we serve. Contact us if you or someone you know are ready to adopt a cat. We look forward to hearing from you!
Use our Clynk Account
Donate the value of your redeemable bottles by using our Clynk bags. You can get the bags for free at Wags & Whiskers on Front St. in Bath or at Pet Quarters in the Merrymeeting Plaza in Brunswick.
